Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Havana, we are looking for a real taste of Cuba. The Nacional springs to mind and I have seen some 'boutique hotels' but I am not sure on the standard of these. I would like to be central to the sights.

We were in Havana for two weeks last year and stayed at the Hotel O'Farrill. It's right in the centre of Old Havana. It's a four star hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. It's not a large hotel, certainly not the size of the National, but we liked it for that. You certainly can't beat it for location. Here's their web site for more information. www.hotelofarrill.com

Hotel Santa Isabel was very central and was absolutely beautiful. There was a lovely courtyard and the rooms were very spacious.

Find accommodations in Old Havana, the liveliest part of the city. The Hotel Inglaterra is a staple of the area. It is a comfortable hotel in the heart of the action.
