We're thinking about a holiday in the Caribbean for next year: does anyone have any island/resort recommendations away from the usual Barbados/Antigua/St Lucia?

Thanks,

Peter

You might want to think about Nevis, Bequia or Anguilla. The latter has plenty of luxury resorts; fewer options on Nevis (there is a Four Seasons) and Bequia. Plenty of other options in terms of small hotels and villa rental (I can recommend Yellow Bird: http://www.yellowbirdnevis.co.uk/)

I loved Nisbit Plantation in Nevis -  Other Caribbean favourites are Peter Island and Biras Creek in the British Virgin Islands, Kamalame Cay in the Bahamas and the Guanahani in St Barts! Good luck!

I would receommend Anguilla. It is a small island that's very different from the traditional picture you have of the Caribbean. The island is a little drier with cactus everywhere, but the food was the best I have ever had in the Caribbean and the people were so genuinely friendly. Cap Juluca is a gorgeous hotel with one of the most amazing beaches in the Caribbean I think. If you love great food, little islands, sailing, and chilling out, Anguilla will be a good choice. Enjoy!

St Barts would be a great idea. You could consider the Hotel Le Toiny, a villas and suite hotel.

The rich and famous love St. Barth’s for its vibrant combination of European sophistication and a Caribbean island paradise. Clear skies, turquoise water and dozens of beaches make St. Barth’s an ideal year-round vacation spot.
