Chile is a geographical phenomenon stretching like a 4300 km ribbon all the way from Peru right down to the tip of South America with the towering Andes Mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Its extreme natural beauty draws visitors to the desert lands of Patagonia where innovative hotels like explora give adventure a five-star feel. Don’t miss the Valley of the Moon, Chungará Lake and the magnificent Parinacota and Pomerape volcanos. Skiers can head to the central Andes to Portillo, Valle Nevado and Termas de Chillán, while Laguna Rafael National Park has huge glaciers to explore. Santiago is a hedonistic capital or visit the port town of Vapparaiso for fine seafood. And of course there are wonderful beaches and vineyards across the country. And if you want a once in a lifetime experience, take the trip to mystical Rapu Nui otherwise known as Easter Island.

Much of Chile has a mountain climate with snow on higher parts. The north is desert and typically warm during the day and very cold at night. The central part has a Mediterranean climate with a rainy season between May and August. The south is cold, especially in winter and often wet. The best time to visit is spring (October to November) or autumn (March to April) when humidity is low.
