Old St Mary’s Convent was originally located next to Saint Mary’s Church in Blenheim, but in 1994 it was moved to its current location on an estate of 60 acres of Provencal-style gardens. Surrounded on all sides by vineyards and olive groves and reminiscent of colonial times, it retains its’ original charm and character - the ground floor interiors remain exactly as they were nearly one hundred years ago, complete with stained glass windows and wrap around balcony, only the décor has changed. There are just five spacious rooms each offering spectacular views with en-suite baths and separate showers. Guests are served a hearty breakfast in the intimate dining room before choosing the day’s activities: reading a good book in the library, a game of croquet, or perhaps a bicycle ride around the estate to find St Michael’s, a charming wooden church perfect for contemplation (even a small wedding) or further afield to enjoy some of the water sports and fishing the Marlborough Sounds are famous for.
