We were so lucky to find The Alpine Club's Chalet Abode in St Martin de Belleville in the resort of Trois Vallees in France. Not only is the chalet an undiscovered gem, but so is St Martin de Belleville - a gorgeous Savoyard mountain village, with old stone chalets & plenty of heart with the worlds biggest ski area on the doorstep - perfect!

From the moment we first made contact with The Alpine Club we were looked after by the owner of the company, Helen, who took care of every detail. She organised everything brilliantly; from finding the best ski guides to arranging different menus, ensuring our favorite tea was in the chalet - and my husband's 50th birthday which she helped make sure was celebrated in style. Quite simply, nothing was too much trouble.

And Chalet Abode itself was stunning. A beautiful old Savoyard farmhouse that has been lovingly renovated with a contemporary interior. The wall-to-wall windows in the living room gave views 'to die for', and the bedrooms where full of thoughtful touches, not to mention the most comfortable beds in the world!

Deep baths with showers meant after a day on the slopes we were fully soaked and relaxed before our gourmet dinner in the evening.

I was blown away with the level of service from our chef and the host; they catered for our every need and nothing was ever too much trouble.

All in all, we had a fantastic holiday with The Alpine Club in St Martin de Belleville and we will be back.
