Treetops Wilderness and Eco Lodge

Last October my wife and I decided to visit the Riviera Maya. Our rainy Boston was too much for us, so we decided to look for some sunny places. There are so many resorts down there and most of them look amazing - Grand Velas, Fairmont Maya Coba among others.
But we finally decided for Hacienda Tres Rios, mainly because besides all the amenities the others offer, this one is more natural (even with its own private nature park, Tres Rios Nature Park) and has all the eco-friendly culture around it. We personally love and are grateful for that kind of stuff.
Now, the resort is brand new and it's less than a year since it opened. Our room was really nice, full of details, a delicious jacuzzi inside and some new technology with a touchscreen where you can almost book anything you want such as tours, room service, private meals, spa etc.
For us, the staff are among the best assets of the hotel. Everyone is so friendly and kind. From the concierge to the pizza chef, everyone is helpful and with a smile which was always much appreciated. The pool area is nicely designed and the beach is beautiful.
We had too a great time with the special activities: the 'Senses' adventure was our favorite, eyes covered and exploring music, aromas and flavors. Later swimming in one of the cenotes (deep clear and chilly natural lagoons) of the park.
We had a great time, nothing to complain about besides the mosquitoes!! So bring some repellent.
