Singapore and Tioman Island
Travelling east for beaches, snorkelling and good food is something we’ve never done before ... more
At the end of a holiday in New Zealand we returned home via Fiji and stayed for three nights at what turned out to be the wonderfully luxurious Sheraton Fiji Resort on the island of Denarau. We wish it had been longer and vow to return one day.
Our room was spacious and comfortable and tastefully decorated and furnished. The en-suite bathroom was 'out of this world' and we were provided with high-class toiletries. There was a balcony overlooking the beach and with sun-loungers for us to relax in. We had our own personal maid who provided us with a mouth-watering array of fresh fruit every day.
The resort had three restaurants - one specialising only in fresh fish and shell fish, one specialising in local delicacies, one general cosmopolitan one and a self- service cafe. Coffee and tea and snacks were available throughout the day. There was a small shopping arcade with shops selling local crafts and beach wear etc. And if you wanted to venture further afield there was a tourist agent offering various tours, hire cars, bicycles and flights.
Outside, there was the beach and sea and the opportunity to sail and windsurf or snorkel or just swim and lie in the warm sun. We found the resort staff very helpful and friendly and the evening entertainment was of a high standard and very varied.
