The Hacienda Na Xamena, San Miguel - Set high up on a cliff, this luxury hotel overlooks a beautiful cove on the edge of a national park, surrounded by dramatic scenery of craggy cliff faces & lush greenery. It is very tranquil & the nearest town is San Miguel, but there isn't very much there, so it’s worth taking the half hour drive to Ibiza town. The hotel is really rustic in style & quiet sophistication, helped along with its excellent service & fabulous food – It all looked great to us.

My top tip would be to book at least a Superior Double Room which is a large open plan lounge/bedroom with a Jacuzzi tub actually in the room - This is not a flashy room, but it’s tastefully decorated & very comfortable, with some great costal views.

Children are accepted, but I wouldn’t recommend it to be honest as there is not much for them to do.

There are three fantastic restaurants, Eden, which is an open-air rooftop terrace-style restaurant with a casual atmosphere serving Mediterranean food with an almost barbecue style to it. For fine dining, Sueno de Estrellas is amazing & absolutely everything about our meal was exceptional, from the service, to the food, (to the wine!), to the Moorish feel – lots of billowing drapes, dark colours & candle light. Cascades has a more relaxed outdoor feel & is open for breakfast & lunch. There is also a lovely spa but I would recommend booking any treatments in advance, there is also a great free-form pool with a decked area and another smaller pool. The hotel also has exclusive boat tours over to Formentera.
