When in Rome...
Ah, Rome - The Eternal City. A city where history seeps from every pore, a city ... more
Sailing on the Jewels of the Mediterranean cruise next May means you also have the chance to lend a hand to BBC’s Children in Need, with Sir Terry Wogan and his TOGs (Terry’s Old Geezers and Gals) on board Cunard’s Queen Victoria for the cruise.
The team are planning their second trip on the ship to raise money for Children In Need during the 12-night roundtrip voyage from Southampton.
Many members of Wogan’s team will be on board to host receptions, entertainment, and evenings of music and entertainment, with Pudsey also guaranteed to make an appearance or two.
Fans of Wogan will recognise his ‘traffic totty’ Lynn Bowles, the mad ‘bus crasher’ Charles Nove, the ‘loose canon’ Roger Royle and ‘voice of the balls’ Alan Dedicoat, who are preparing their parts for the cruise. Wogan will helicopter in for some of the cruise, which departs from Southampton on May 14, 2010.
The cruise includes two exclusive champagne receptions, Deadlyoke – a sea shanty sing-a-long with Alan Dedicoat, Janet & John Live, Welsh For Beginners, A Natter With Nove and the return of Alan Dedicoat’s famous Pub Quiz, as well as a big fundraising evening with Sir Terry and his team.
The itinerary for Jewels of the Mediterranean takes in Barcelona, Cannes, Livorno (for Florence/Pisa), Civitavecchia (for Rome), Gibraltar and back to Southampton.
Check out the special TOG Voyage page at www.cunard.co.uk/togs. Cunard, pledges to donate 10% of each fare from TOGs for the cruise to BBC Children In Need.
